One of East Fork Roofing’s upgrade offerings on all replacement proposals is the option of Ridge on Rakes. The purpose of this post is to help aid you in the decision of whether or not you want this upgrade for your roofing project.
Upgrading to ridge on rakes adds additional wind protection. That is because each ridge rake piece is nailed to the roof as well as the wood on the rake (which is called the fascia). This does not change the wind warranty provided (130 mph), but will provide added protection. Most customers feel the 130 mph wind warranty is sufficient, which is why adding ridge tends to mostly an aesthetic decision.

As you can see the roof has a sleek and clean appearance and still has great wind protection.
Here is a home that has ridge on the rakes:
The added ridge pieces brings additional beauty and additional wind protection to the home. One last thing to consider is that ridge on the rakes can create a more complicated experience when the home needs to be painted.
So, what do you think? Is ridge on the rakes for your home or do you prefer the more traditional look of a home without it?
